This large 85.5 carat (41mm long) dog tooth crystal was sold to a buyer as a unique specimen for his collection. This stone was found in 1972 by Jack Wilson when mining on the Wellingrove Creek. Jack turned down a large offer from the Japanese Embassy in the 1980’s but recently agreed to part with it - it is fully transparent with a greenish cross table which is quite common in sapphire from this resource.
