Aussie Sapphire

Regular readers may know that Andrew spent last weekend at the Lightning Ridge Opal Show.  As always, this was an enjoyable weekend catching up with friends on the gem show circuit and doing some buying and selling.  Of course, the unique thing about Lightning Ridge is the amazing landscape and wonderful black opal to be found there.

While at “The Ridge”, Andrew came across this great DVD hot off the press (released in July 2007). Coincidentally, the producer Harold Konz hails from Inverell and is an old friend from way back so we got a few to sell on our website. 

The DVD features 63 minutes of video and information about Lightning Ridge – the people, history, tourist attractions, festivals and opal mining/cutting. 

These are now available direct from our website so we invite you to take a look at this amazing part of Australia.  Of course, Andrew was not able to resist bringing back some opal either so if you are looking for a little bit of colour, just give us a call.
